It’s been a great year, as we most recently created over 30 pieces of custom furniture for the newly reopened Iguana Lounge (above), participated in the group shows Illumination and Under the Influence 2 at City Arts Center and created an entire dining environment for Dinner in the Deuce at Untitled Artspace in January.

PASEO SHOW

The First Friday show in Paseo was a huge success. Lots of folks braved the heat to see art and furniture. Special thanks to the ladies at Studio Six for inviting me to show some new work.

UNDER THE INFLUENCE 2 SHOW

City Arts Center presented musicians and visual artists collaborations for a group exhibition called Under the Influence 2 on April 25 - May 24, 2008. I  created a brand new lamp as part of this show.

The show's concept is 50 Oklahoma City Area visual artists creating one original piece based on a selection of music.

The NEW Slab Lamp is a huge success. See more pics here.

The NEW Modern Romantic table for Dinner in the Deuce is complete and will be on display until February 23rd at Untitled Artspace. Modern Romantic updates the idea of a picnic in the forest and incorporates natural elements like wood, clay, and water. The collaboration with ceramics artist Matt Seikel is a striking mix of tradional japanese and modern minimalism. See more pics here.

Dinner in the Deuce was a major artistic success. See pictures from the opening here.

Art meets function at Dinner in the Deuce at Untitled ArtSpace. Referencing the historic Deep Deuce neighborhood where the gallery is located, this unique exhibition experience includes over a dozen themed dinner tables created by artists from Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas. The exhibit showcases how practical objects can be viewed as artistic sculpture. The artists handcrafted everything from the silverware to the chairs to the tablecloths and their work blends the ingenuity and design that can be brought to everyday life. The tables range from the elaborate to the delicate and reflect the different ways people share a meal. My Modern Romantic Table is featured.

Thanks to everyone who came to (and bought art) the Illumination opening. What a great show! If you missed the opening, I highly recommend you see the exhibit before it ends on December 22nd. More info. about all of the artist in the show and gallery hours here.

Due to popular demand, be on the lookout for a few variations of the NEW "Slab Lamp" in the near future. It was a huge departure from my normal work and it is a hit! Check back often as many updates will be happening over the next few weeks.

Special thanks to Clint Stone for inviting me to be part of this show, David Salyer for helping me transport/assemble the artwork and the never-ending support of my wonderful wife Cher.
